What would you say to anyone thinking of doing the course?
“Forensic science in an exciting course which allows you to extend your knowledge and apply this knowledge to many different situations. Throughout this course you will be able to play around with the mock-up crime scenes as well as having a go at many different techniques that are used in the world of forensic science.”
The Applied Science courses at NSC are exciting, hands-on science courses closely linked to the skills and knowledge that are needed to work in the science industry. The Level 2 First Diploma covers a broad understanding of scientific principles and procedures and practical laboratory skills. You will also learn about employment within the science industry.
The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Applied Science is a one year, full-time course of study. It is equivalent to 3 three AS levels and the focus is on Applied Science in industry. Upon completion you can progress to the extended diploma, or become employed in the science sector.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science carries on from the Foundation Diploma for a further one year full-time. It is equivalent to three A levels. There are optional pathways of study; Analytical and Forensic Science or Biomedical Science. Upon completion you can progress to university courses in applied science, or you can directly enter the science sector.
