What is the course about?
This course will help you take control of your DSLR camera, over the 5 weeks we look at each of the main camera settings and what they do, understand basic photographic and camera principles including shutter speed, aperture, exposure, ISO, use of different shooting modes (shutter and aperture priority, plus manual mode), how to control depth of field and blur the background, how to compose good photographs and how to create better images. Each week, time is set aside for learning how to use your camera through practical work. No previous experience required. Aimed at beginners who wish to get the very best from their DSLR camera, including image quality settings - jpeg and raw and some processing. Learners are required to have knowledge of Windows, such as opening and closing the programs, saving files, creating folders etc.
Is there anything I need to bring with me?
Learners DO require their own digital SLR camera, download lead or card readers, camera manuals. The ability to use a computer is desirable.
PLEASE NOTE THIS COURSE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR COMPACT CAMERAS.
