Dressmaking for pleasure - in the beginners class you will learn how to use a commercial pattern. Learn how to make a garment using, the set of instructions, contained within a commercial pattern. Learn how to cut out fabric, measure correctly, how to fit a garment and learn about how to finish your garment to a high standard. Dressmaking is a fun hobby with practical uses, as to altering and up cycling your cloths and soft furnishings. Learn how to make clothes, cushions and even items for your pet! This course could help students, to start their own businesses.
Suitable for beginners, we also have an improvers class on Tuesday evenings if interest is there.Is there anything I need to bring with me?
Please bring a sewing kit, the commercial pattern/s you would like to make and the fabric, a pair of scissors for cutting out and a sewing machine if you have one, don't worry if you don't as there are some at college.Are there any opportunities for progression with this course?
