What is the course about?
Basic dog handling and obedience. Introduction to include meeting with other dogs and hygiene in public places.
PLEASE NOTE: AN UP TO DATE VACCINATION CERTIFICATE MUST BE PRODUCED AT THE FIRST MEETING.You may enrol on the Kennel Club @Good Citizens@ dog scheme FREE OF CHARGE.
Assessed at the end of the course and if successful you are awarded a certificate of achievement, rosette and a car sticker for puppy/bronze award.
Is there anything I need to bring with me?
Please bring your dog, lead, treats for your dog, toy.
A means of clearing up after your dog if accidents happen e.g. 'poop-a-scoop'
Suitable footwear for yourself.
Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
No previous experience required.
If your dog is a puppy (up to 12 months) you are invited to register with the Kennel Club to be awarded the ‘Puppy Foundation Award’ prior to a bronze award.
Do not feed your dog before classes. Ensure your dog is not aggressive.
Are there any opportunities for progression with this course?
Possibly progress to attend the ‘Improvers’ class.
