What is the course about?
Learners will gain appreciation of Hatha Yoga. They will learn to do yoga postures, gaining increased flexibility and strength, with correct placement and alignment. Use breathing techniques to release physical and mental tension, and as an aid to relaxation. They will enjoy meditation and relaxation sessions to completely relax the body and mind. Each lesson will consist of a warm up, standing and balancing poses, inversions, back bends, twists and seated poses, finishing with a full body relaxation.
Is there anything I need to bring with me?
Wear loose clothing, bring a blanket for relaxing, together with a mat if you have one, if not one will be supplied by the tutor.
Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
Although the class is suitable for all ages and abilities, consult your doctor if you have not exercised before, the tutor will ask about your general health, but you must notify of any injuries or medical conditions.
The benefits of yoga, as with any form of exercise are built up over weeks/months, to gain and retain the benefits it is important to continue doing regular exercise.
