What does the subject include?
Part 1 - 5 weeks, covering HT Designs, Arrangements and Wired Designs.
Part 2 – 5 weeks, covering Wedding Designs and Funeral Designs
Each part 1 and 2 is 20 hours.
If you have a passion for everything floral then this course may be a great way of kick starting on a new hobby. The course is aimed at beginners and individuals who have a passion for flowers and would love to learn the correct assembly techniques used to construct a range of designs. It may even lead to a whole new career?
The course runs over a ten week period and is broken up into two parts.
Part 1 5 weeks at a cost of £120
Part 2 5 weeks at a cost of £120
There is the option of either doing just Part 1 or Part 2 or completing the full 10 weeks.

Spring has sprung gift wrapped bouquet and hand tied design.
WEEK 2- 4[sup]th[/sup] May 10.00am – 2.00 pm.
Contemporary limited hand tied and limited arrangement.
WEEK3- 11[sup]th[/sup] May 10.00am – 2.00 pm.
Symmetrical arrangement, A –symmetrical arrangement.
WEEK 4- 18[sup]th[/sup] May 10.00am – 2.00pm.
Vegetative arrangement, textured table arrangement.
WEEK 5 – 25[sup]th[/sup] May 10.00am – 2.00pm.
Button hole, boutonniere.
WEEK 1 – 15[sup]TH[/sup] June 10.00am – 2.00pm.
Single/double ended funeral tribute.
WEEK 2 – 22[sup]nd[/sup] June 10.00am – 2.00pm.
June Loose wreath ribbon edge, textured wreath foliage edge.
WEEK 3 – 29[sup]th[/sup] June10.00am – 2.00pm.
June Formal wreath or cross ribbon edge, glued design (if time allows).
WEEK 4 – 6[sup]th[/sup] July 10.00am – 2.00pm.
Pew end, bridesmaid basket.
WEEK 5 – 13[sup]th[/sup] July 10.00 – 2.00pm.
Shower bouquet, cake top in foam.
What do I need to bring with me?
For the first session 27[sup]th[/sup] April you will need Apron, stapler, camera, floristry scissors, string, wrapping materials (4 sheets of tissue paper, enough cellophane to wrap 2 designs approx 4 pieces). Wrapping materials can also be purchased on the day from the tutor at an additional cost.
Flowers – 3 bunches of mixed spring flowers i.e. tulips, hyacinths, daffodils. You may want to include some solidaster, statice or genista but this is not essential.
Foliage – Eucalyptus or soft/hard ruscus (approx, 5 pieces enough filler foliage for HT), 3 leaves for foliage collar such as Aspidistra or Aralia.
You may want to add some twisted willow, pussy willow, beach twigs or decorative accessories to your design but this is not essential.
N.B. Garden foliage and interesting twigs, moss can also be used in designs i.e. berried Ivy, trailing Ivy, Bay, Box, Hebe, twisted willow ……
You may wish to purchase a scrap/notebook to collate pictures, methods and record ideas over the course duration.
Information and guidance will be provided for the flowers / foliage and sundry materials to bring with you at the end of each session for the following week.
Are there any extra costs?
Flowers and sundries are not included in the course fees. You may want to purchase wrapping items/sundries from the tutor if needed.
