The academic teaching within the Countryside Management curriculum is supported by up-to-date resources, which include fully equipped classroom facilities, 220 hectare farm and estate which comprises of a commercially managed farm (managed in accordance with the Higher Level stewardship scheme), new plantations, traditional woodland, fishing lake, ponds, game shoot and various habitats and conservation areas.
This curriculum area prides itself on providing learners with an exceptional learning experience incorporating both theory and practical activities. Much work is done with local land-based businesses and large estates in providing alternative resources and equipment.
Progression opportunities for students include transfer up to the next course level and progression onto relevant Higher Education courses. Also, students will be prepared for a variety of interesting and responsible jobs within this very rewarding industry.
