The Horse Management department offers a range of courses from level 2 to level 5 inclusively. We have excellent equine resources including large indoor and outdoor arenas, stabling for over 30 horses, and cross country course. The courses all offer both theory and practical sessions as well as work experience opportunities and yard duties which are completed outside of college hours and at weekends.
Students are required to start College with some basic horse care knowledge and riding ability which will then progress through the guidance of our highly experienced team of lecturers, instructors and yard staff. Alongside the courses there are the opportunities for study tours to Badminton Horse Trials, Olympia, and Your Horse Live.
Many of our students progress through the levels within Horse Management, but there are also progression routes into work based learning or other Higher Education courses, as well as the opportunity for direct employment within the equine sector in a wide range of jobs. The College Equine Department takes horses on loan and working livery agreements for use by the students.
