The College owns and runs a successful commercial farm enterprise, which has had investment of over £1m in recent years, this included a dairy unit incorporating both a Fullwood 24/24 herringbone milking parlour and a Fullwood Merlin Robot. There has been recent investment in new machinery to enhance the student experience including the new self-propelled forage harvester.
The dairy has cow and young stock housing and a milking herd of 300 cows. The farm has expanded its lowland sheep flock to 600 breeding ewes and with the various cereal, forage and root crops enterprises, it provides our students with an excellent and varied learning environment as well as providing fantastic work experience opportunities.
Walford Equestrian Centre
Adjacent to the farm is the Walford Equestrian Centre, which comprises a 60m x 30m indoor arena, outdoor school and stabling for 32 horses (livery facilities available by arrangement).
