Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Trees and Timber
This apprenticeship is a rewarding choice for anyone with passion and enthusiasm for conservation, the countryside and an interest in trees, timber and woodland. It covers the main occupations within the trees and timber industry, including the establishment, care, maintenance and management of trees, woodlands and forests, as well as the production of wood and timber products.
The Advanced Apprenticeship develops the practical and supervisory skills and background knowledge that is required to manage woodland or run an arboriculture team.
Typical jobs available include:
- Intermediate Apprenticeship: forest worker, forest ranger, general worker, or base level arborist (groundworker)
- Advanced Apprenticeship: assistant head forester, contractor (harvesting and/or establishment), social forester, woodland manager, team leader/supervisor.
