Land & Wildlife Management Level 3
This course provides you with a range of specialist technical practical skills and knowledge which will equip you to seek employment or further learning and training within the land and wildlife management industries.
This qualification gives you the opportunity to study a range of specialist technical practical skills and knowledge that build upon the core skills required for working in the countryside such as estate maintenance skills, population surveys, safe use of equipment and machinery with further areas of study such as land use and recreation, and pest and predator control. You can
then learn additional specialist skills such as woodland habitat management, estate skills, machinery operations, countryside recreation, surveying and identification.
We endeavour to work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Trips, visits and guest speakers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry. This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining
employment in the land and wildlife industries or specialist further study.

Is this course for me?
This course is designed to equip learners with the skills, knowledge and experience to work in the countryside management sector. It is specifically designed for those students who want to pursue employment in forestry, game keeping or wildlife conservation. Students should be highly motivated, willing to learn and prepared to work outdoors in all weather! Additional qualifications will be included within the programme, thus adding depth to the qualification.

What is the structure of the course?
This is an exciting and challenging course that offers students huge scope to work within the environmental sector or progress onto higher education. Much emphasis is put on practical skill development, with an emphasis on learning within a practical environment. Both skills and knowledge are continually assessed resulting in a portfolio of evidence collected by you. Work experience will provide students with opportunities to work in some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes and outstanding wildlife reserves. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level.
