16-18 Advance

If you’re aged 16-18, the Advance course is designed to support you in preparing for your future career. It combines a work placement with time at college, where you will study English, maths and employability skills as well as developing your confidence.

What does the course involve?

  • Development of your employability skills
  • Qualifications in English and maths
  • Work experience with a local employer
  • Enrichment- taking part in community projects and extra-curricular activities such as sports.
  • Tutorials and pastoral support from a keyworker, who will support you in college and work placement throughout your course.

Where do I study?

The Advance programme is delivered at bases in the following locations:

  • Oswestry
  • Shrewsbury
  • Telford
  • Whitchurch

What are the progression opportunities?

  • Join a college course in an area of interest to you
  • Progress onto an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • Move into employment

No formal qualifications are required.

On application you will be invited to an interview with a keyworker who will discuss your previous achievements and study.
