BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Sport (Golf Scholarship)

Overview

The Diploma will provide you with the opportunity to gain foundation knowledge and understanding in sports and fitness. Practical sessions form an important aspect of the course enabling you to develop skills that are needed to work in leisure centres, sports retail outlets and activity centres.

What does this subject include?

This course consists of the following:

  • The qualification is run in partnership with Mile End Golf Club
  • There are two to three training sessions per week at Mile End Golf Club
  • Fully Qualified Golf Professional will be delivering the coaching
  • Opportunity to enter golf tournaments throughout the year

What is the structure of the course?

The course is made up of 60 credits over 1 year, with units being valued at either 5 or 10 credits. Each of which is assessed by a range of methods including written assessments, role play, presentations and practical activities.

What are the entry requirements?

  • 4 GCSE’s at D grade or a Level 1 Sports (or other relevant Level 1 qualification) at pass grade.
  • Students are required to be self-motivated, disciplined and to take a degree of responsibility for their own learning.
  • You will be required to do a practical assessment at interview stage in your chosen sport.
