BTEC Level 2 Diploma Uniformed Public Services

Overview

The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services will provide you with the opportunity to gain foundation knowledge and understanding of the uniformed public services in the UK. Practical sessions form an important aspect of the course enabling you to develop skills that are needed to work effectively in a number of services. There is an excellent balance of practical and theory elements. Theory includes modules such as public service skills and some exciting practical units look at adventurous activities all designed to shape you to work in public services.

What is the structure of the course?

The course is studied for one year at NSC’s Oswestry Campus. The course will focus on developing a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential to enter employment in the Public Service sector. Learning will be varied and active.  There will be regular visits to public service organisations along with a range of study trips and day visits designed to enhance knowledge and team working skills.

What are the entry requirements?

  • 4 GCSE’s at D grade or a relevant Level 1 qualification at pass grade (or 4 GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above on new GCSE grading system).
  • Students are required to be self-motivated, disciplined and to take a degree of responsibility for their own learning.
