BTEC National Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Law

Overview

The law lies behind nearly all of our relationships from the most professional, that between employer and employee, to the most personal, that between husband and wife. Find out how the law works to regulate our dealings with others. The course will allow you to find out about how the English legal system works: where the law comes from, how the courts work, and the people involved in the legal system. You will also have the opportunity to gain a good knowledge of criminal law.

What is the structure of the course?

The Extended Certificate is a one year course, usually coupled with another course (for example BTEC Applied Science or BTEC Applied Psychology). Units are assessed by a range of methods; examinations, set tasks, written assignments, practicals, projects, oral presentations or case studies.

What are the entry requirements?

  • Entry requirements are 5 GCSEs grade 4 (C) or above which should include; Science, Maths and English.
  • Relevant Level 2 BTEC qualifications are taken into account.
  • Appropriate work experience is also considered.
  • Entry is by interview.
