This course will give you a foundation level insight into agriculture, animal care and management. It aims to prepare you for future education or employment within the animal sector with a mixture of classroom and practical-based sessions as well as visits from guest speakers and trips.
Modules incorporate practical and classroom elements across the Walford Campus including the Harris Centre Animal Care Unit, Equine Unit and Walford Dairy Farm.
Students will gain valuable experience in basic aspects of countryside, agriculture, equestrian and animal management skills by building a portfolio of evidence and practical assessment. The course is very practical and hands-on with plenty of opportunities to develop your skills in a practical environment. There are a variety of external visits which form part of your study programme and you will be appointed a personal tutor for the duration of the course.
