Uniformed Public Services Students Outdoor Adventure Trip to Aberdovey
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Uniformed Public Services students attended a trip to the seaside village of Aberdovey in Snowdonia, on the west coast of Wales. The students attended the Outward Bound Centre at Aberdovey for one week, taking part in a variety of exciting activities and challenges.
Students participated in climbing, assault courses, hill walking and map reading among others. The mixture of outdoor skills facilitated team building, physical fitness and life skills, preparing students for the mental and physical demands of life in the services, stepping them out of their comfort zones.
Uniformed Public Services tutor Paul Clark commented, “Students worked on leadership and navigation skills, whilst also improving their confidence and fitness. The annual educational trip develops outdoor adventure skills, communication and environmental factors, a well-rounded trip and a great experience for all!”
