Lateral Flow Testing

Lateral Flow Testing was in full swing here at Herefordshire, Ludlow & North Shropshire College; over the three weeks we tested 6,587 students, averaging at 439 students a day.⁠ Staff from all campuses worked extremely hard, and their dedication has not gone unnoticed. 

Carly Church has been working at the Ludlow campus test centre and said, “The LFT test centre has gone really well! The team have been in operation since January - first establishing the test centres and then providing LFT tests for staff. For the past three weeks we have been providing LFT tests for students at Ludlow College. There has been a good uptake of students and it has been really great to see them back in college again!

We have a team of registration staff and processing staff, all trained in and following strict PPE, processing and sanitisation protocols. However, we hope it doesn't feel too clinical and aim to make everyone feel welcome in the test centre.

We chose to observe the one-minute silence on Tuesday 23rd March as a way to reflect on the huge impact Covid-19 has had on all our lives, and as a way to pay our respects to those who have sadly died.
We have an amazing team here and, speaking for myself, it has been an honour to be a part of this service.”

We’d like to thank both the staff and students for ensuring the three weeks run smoothly, and for adapting to the ‘new normal’ so well. Moving forward students will be given home testing kits to continue testing themselves at home!
