Tomas Jones selected for ECFA national squad

Congratulations to Tomas Jones, who’s recently been selected as part of the England Colleges FA (ECFA) 2022/23 national squad.

The talented youngster is a part of The New Saints FC’s scholarship programme, which is run in association with Oswestry’s North Shropshire College.

Initially nominated by Simon Smith following impressive performances for the under-19s and under-21s this season, the 17-year-old was one of 500 players who trialled for a place in this year’s squad.

Processing to the second round of trials, and up against 60 other players, Tomas was one of just 20 that were picked for a place in the final ECFA squad.

Next February, the squad take on Australia at St. George’s Park, before heading off to a tournament in Italy a few days later.
