The Animal Management department offers a range of courses from across two different campuses – Walford and Shipley. We have two fully equipped animal care units hosting over 100 different species of animal, which students play a pivotal role in the daily care and maintenance of, as well as a specialist grooming room and science laboratory. All of the courses have both practical and theory lessons as well as a work experience element to ensure that students gain the theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed to make them employable. The Animal Care teaching team hosts a wide range of interests and experiences and are all extremely passionate about their role inspiring the future generation of animal management specialists. Alongside the courses there are opportunities for National and International study tours to observe and encounter animals in different areas/countries. Many of our students progress through the levels within Animal Management, but there are also progression routes into work based learning or other Higher Education courses, as well as the opportunity for direct employment within the animal care sector in a wide range of jobs.
