COURSE TITLE:

 

Level 2 Certificate in Floristry (0351-02)

 

 

WHAT DOES THE COURSE INCLUDE?

 

These qualifications are designed for candidates who

  • wish for career progression into or within the floristry sector
  • do not have access to work-based qualifications.

The course includes design, costing and construction of floral designs and the process of selling the designs.

 

 

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE?

 

The certificate and diploma are all at Level 2. The certificate is a building block towards the diploma, which covers all the floristry tasks expected of a junior florist.

 

For the Certificate, candidates must complete unit 201

  • Unit 201 Introduction to art and design for florist plus 3 units.
  • Unit 202 Identify, check and monitor the quality of incoming cut materials
  • Unit 206 Plan, prepare and construct floral arrangements
  • Unit 204 Plan, prepare and construct tied floristry designs

 

 

IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

 

If you are interested in being creative and working with flowers and other plant materials floristry is for you. The course is designed to develop skills to enable you to work with in the floristry industry; either for an employer or self-employed if you progress to higher levels.

 

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

 

No specific prior qualifications, learning or experience are required. However, the nature of both the learning and assessment required for the qualification is such that, at Levels 2 and 3 candidates will need good literacy and numeracy skills. Candidates will need to be able to organise written information clearly and coherently guidance and support will be provided by the tutor.
