We are also running a daytime Ceramics class.

What is the course about?

A basic understanding of pottery techniques including pinching, coiling, slab building, hand building and using moulds. All aspects of construction in clay, decorating and glazing. Exploring the skills and imagination needed to make objects in clay and glaze.

The structure of the course is tutor example, class participation. Mainly practical with demonstrations, guidance and visual aids.

No experience required – all levels welcome. Fun relaxed style of teaching.

Is there anything I need to bring with me?

Wear old clothes and an apron. Bring anything that will make a mark in clay and a rolling pin. Tools can be acquired as needed for individuals.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

It is helpful to take pieces home to work on them, but not essential.

Are there any opportunities for progression with this course?

Go on to GCSE Art or A level/ qualification in pottery. Useful as a tool to work in Ceramics production as a career.
