May 2024 Update from Walford Farm
Walford College: An update from our farm. An overview A window of drier weather at
Walford College incorporates a large arable, dairy, beef and sheep training farm, equestrian and animal care centres, motor vehicle workshops and more.
The animal care centre has specialist facilities to cater for over 80 different species, including meerkats, snakes, birds of prey, alpacas, rats, kookaburras and bearded dragons. We also have a dairy, a 65-hectare grazing platform supporting a pasture-based autumn calving herd of dairy cows and a flock of Shropshire sheep.
Our equestrian centre comprises a 60m x 30m indoor arena, outdoor school and stabling for up to 32 horses (livery facilities available by arrangement).
We have a large motor vehicle centre with three workshops, a new purpose-built Foundation Learning Centre and restaurant. Thanks to investment of over £10m, Walford provides some of the best facilities in the region.
We’re the only college in the area to offer a timetable suited to the demands of young people living in our rural community, who often face long daily journeys.
We also offer high quality residential accommodation so students can live on campus.
